ASASSN-13cx is a cataclysmic variable star of the dwarf nova type, located in the constellation Andromeda. It was discovered in 2013 by the ASAS-SN survey as a transient object that brightened by approximately 4 magnitudes. The system consists of a white dwarf accreting matter from a donor star via an accretion disk. Instabilities in the disk cause recurrent outbursts of brightness, a hallmark of dwarf nova behavior.
